Our work so far: 2015 - 2016

2015 - 2016

In autumn 2016 we hosted our formal consultation on the detailed design for our proposed new connection. This involved a series of 30 events in November and December along the proposed route. We placed project materials at 43 publicly accessible locations to enable access throughout the consultation period and sent more than 86,000 newsletters to homes and businesses in the project area. The consultation opened on 28 October 2016 and closed on 6 January 2017.

The 2016 consultation followed our announcement of a proposed route alignment in 2015. We sent a newsletter to more than 105,000 households and hosted a series of 27 Information Events along the route to keep people informed about the project.

During this period, we also continued worked with landowners and specialist groups to develop our proposed design.

What is route alignment?

The route alignment is the exact line that we propose our new connection could follow. This is one of the items we’re asking you to comment on in this formal consultation.
