2009 - 2012

We worked with local authorities, environmental, business and community organisations from across Lancashire and Cumbria to identify six broad options, referred to as ‘strategic options’, for connecting Moorside to the electricity network.

2012 - 2015

After confirming the strategic options we had selected to take forward, we studied them to identify the different paths, known as ‘route corridors’, in which we could build a connection.

Further studies 2015 - 2016

We announced our proposed route corridor in summer 2015. We then held a series of community information events to provide people with an update on how the project was progressing and the next steps. In autumn 2016 we launched a formal consultation on our detailed design.
